Deadline Extended for Steve Lukos Memorial Education Scholarship

Published On: September 16, 2021

The Steve Lukos Memorial Education Scholarship, to honor the career of Steve Lukos in the industrial textiles industry, has been extended to Monday, October 4.

Steve Lukos was known as a hardworking, intelligent—a bit on the stubborn side—and innovator that refused to settle for anything less than perfection. He is noted as giving generously to various organizations making this scholarship opportunity a reflection of the man he was.  Of his more noteworthy accomplishments are the invention of an awning retractable systems under the names Eastern Awning and Worldscreen, installing awnings on the White House, the home of Mayor of Moscow and Grand Central Station. Lukos owned Eastern Awning in Watertown for several decades, which is still in business today. In his personal time, he enjoyed motorcycles, carpentry and boating with family and friends in Long Island.

There are three education scholarships being awarded that are made possible by a generous donation from IFAI member Jamie Mills, Wm. J. Mills & Co. We encourage you to apply today!
