Vertilux producing face mask kits: sewers needed!

Published On: March 31, 2020

Vertilux, headquartered in Miami, Fla, is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of fabrics, components and automated solutions for the window covering industry. Recently, the company decided to join the fight against COVID-19 and start producing face masks kits for other people and organizations who have the capabilities to sew them in large quantities. Ultimately, the masks would be donated to first responders, or any organization that is willing to take them due to the shortage in safety garments supply.

According to Vertilux, there is plenty of fabric and ribbon to produce more kits−but there is only one sewing machine in-house, making it difficult to mass-produce the masks. Using their cutting machines, which can handle a large load of cuts at once, Vertilux is providing the fabric and ribbon, already cut and ready to be sewn into face masks.

Volunteers with sewing machines are needed. For those in Miami: please share the link to the online site and spread the news. There are several local institutions in desperate need of these masks. For those located outside the Miami area, Vertilux can arrange complimentary shipping to all companies or single individuals who have the capability to sew more than 100 kits. If you can do 200, 300 or 500−even better!
