Serge Ferrari announced that Steve Szenay has been promoted to Technical Support Manager for North America. Szenay will be responsible for disseminating technical information for all Serge Ferrari products sold in the United States and Canada, including product use, fabrication best- practices, maintenance and claim evaluation. In this newly created position, Szenay will be the liaison between product and technical managers in the company’s corporate office and local customers, answering technical questions, developing training programs, and advising on correct usage of existing and new products. He will also be responsible for product training to the Serge Ferrari North America sales team.

Szenay has been working with Serge Ferrari since 2007 as Regional Sales Manager, supporting sales in all markets, with a specialty in the marine segment. He brings more than 30 years of experience working with marine cover and shade fabrication, including more than seven years running his own company. In 2014, Szenay co-wrote the book “Marine Canvas Track to Track: Insider’s Information,” which continues to be sold as a resource to marine canvas professionals looking to expand their knowledge. Szenay has also served as first vice chair, and, more recently, as chair for the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) Maine Fabricators Association (MFA). In 2016, Szenay was awarded the Lifetime Certification as Master Fabrics Craftsman (MFC) by IFAI.

“Steve is well respected in the marine industry for his fabrication expertise,” says Ilse Beterams, Vice President of North America. “Customers have long told us they appreciate his willingness to answer questions, and to offer advice and council wherever needed. It is this type of customer-centric support our customers in all markets need, and we are delighted to expand Steve’s role to facilitate this kind of quality support.”
